SKOB Masters have gone back-to-back in Central Division, claiming an upset victory over De La Salle at Casey Fields on Sunday. Led by the "young brigade" of Tigger Hamilton, Tommy Simpson, Woosha Aughton and Dutchy Holland, who got great support from the "older brigade (who still look like the young brigade)" co-captains Dave Shutdown Sheehy and Patty "Sermon" Mount the SKOB Masters led from start to finish and held off a last quarter fightback from De La to get the chocolates in a huge boilover.
There were great players all over the park, but Tigger Hamilton and Dancing Rick Caldow were standouts for SKOB who were led to glory by first time coach Steve O'Connor with more than able assistance from Damien "Rock" Ryan - who handed the role to his protege in the off-season in what is now a masterstroke manoeuvre.
De La came into the game undefeated and looking to make it a three-peat of flags for them (having won twice in the Southern Division). The SKOB ‘fossils’ were massive underdogs but they had huge belief and took out the Premiership comfortably in the end 5.8 to 3.3. Congratulations boys on a great win.
Full report will come from Sharknado Makohon later in the week....maybe...
There were plenty of backslappers on hand to celebrate the Masters victory when the Cup made it's way to Elsternwick Park to cheer on the SKOB Seniors as they won their First Semi final to cap a great day for SKOB.
