The Annual Ladies Day Lunch was a smashing success on Saturday with many of the Saints players being joined by their proud mums on a wonderful day for all.
Our special guest was Elise O'Dea who was thoroughly entertaining in her Q&A with SKOB favourite and Carlton AFLW Coach Daniel Harford. But the day was all about the ladies and with Mother's Day on Sunday it was a perfect event and a great opportunity for the Saints to play on the same day as the Seniors.
The Saints did not disappoint either, recording a big win over Old Trinity to keep the pace on Marcellin at the top of the Premier Women's ladder. On the field, the men's teams both enjoyed wins over Old Trinity to cap a perfect day at the King for SKOB.
The Seniors match was a tight tussle as OT's proved a hard team to shake. Despite the fast start from SKOB, with a goal to Tom Boyd in the first 3 minutes they were never able to stretch out to a comfortable lead - save for the last few minutes of the final term - as Old Trinity fought hard all day. Whilst the forward line was well held, the SKOB midfield of Wallis, Matheson, Jok and Mahoney were well served by Ruckman Riley Bowman, who continues to impress, whilst young Matt Presutto again was damaging across half back.
Resplendent in their pink socks in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (as were the Saints) and wearing their clash strip, SKOB looked quite different out on the park. Although missing a couple of regulars, they were able to welcome back Matt Arnot for his first run in 2021 as well as see Patrick Kerr (son of former captain Stephen) make his SKOB debut - capping it with a nice mark and goal in the first term.
