SKOB players - Men's and Women's - have been hard at it, training since November last year. There's a healthy mix of fresh new faces, familiar old ones and even a few returnees coming back to the SKOB fold as they prepare to launch into Season 2020. Our Men's teams have had access to TH King for most of the pre-season, whilst the Saints have enjoyed the fabulous facilities at St.Kevin's Tooronga playing fields. This has allowed plenty of space for all and meant that our coaches have been able to run full ground drills - a luxury in pre-season. On the weekend of Feb 22-23, members of the Men's and women's teams will head to Portsea for the Pre-Season camp. It's the first time we have combined the playing group and it is our biggest camp yet. This is a great opportunity for the players to train together and will be a real springboard for the year ahead.
SKOB Saints are flying
Ask any trainer worth their salt how their charges are faring at this time of the year and the answer will almost inevitably be "we're flying". It was no different when we quizzed SKOB trainer Simon Webb. "It's February - We're flying... of course". Saints assistant coach (and SKOB legend) Robin Bowles gave a similar assessment of the group going through their paces at Tooronga fields. Would always love to see a few more on the track, but the numbers have been solid and the enthusiasm is high. The Saints are enjoying putting in the hard yards and the skills improvement at this time of year is really evident. It's a great time to join - Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 at Tooronga.
