Presentation Night Wrap

Oh wow. A lit up venue full of smiling faces, dressed up folks with glamour in spades, inspiring speeches and the emotional return of an old friend, combined to make for a perfect evening at Zinc on Friday night as the SKOB community gathered to cap off another great season together.

In a return to a more formal occasion, the room was full of SKOBBERS from the Under 19s to the Saints to the Senior Men's with loads of support staff and fans on hand to witness a night full of highlights, some surprises and plenty of fun.

The Jack Douglas Medal for Men's Best and fairest was taken out by Billy Coates who claimed his second career medal in the year that he brought up his 200th game for SKOB, highlighting his incredible consistency over a long career that continues to deliver. In the Women's Senior Best and Fairest there was a tie! The Lisa Ring Trophy for B&F was shared between Bree Doyle (her 4th in a stellar career) and Kate Stanton who capped her best season for SKOB yet.

The night was made more special by the presence of Michael Pisker who was on hand to receive the trophy as he became the inaugural winner of the Most Courageous Award - appropriately named in his honour. His acceptance speech was extraordinary as he spoke of the incredible support he has received throughout his recovery from SKOB and the wider community. He had the audience hanging on every word and received a standing ovation as he was presented with the award by coach Anthony Lynch and President Pat Mount.

There were other winners galore through the night, culminating in the award for Best Clubman, which went to Pete Murray - a more than worthy recipient given his incredible efforts throughout 2024. Pete, who has taken the reigns with our Social Media (amongst a host of other jobs he's performed this season) spoke of his absolute highlight of the entire year, the moment he saw a SKOB social post "liked" by el_piskatoray - Michael Pisker's social media account - as he recovered in his hospital bed.

All the photos and winners list can be seen below. Congratulations to all and see you in 2025. Go SKOB
